In order to meet my goal to be a lifelong learner who shares knowledge with my colleagues, I had planned to attend workshops regularly. So far, I am scheduled for a two day workshop for next week. After this workshop, I am certain that I will have a plethora of new ideas that will be useful in the upcoming school year for not only me but my students and colleagues as well.
Teaching to students and modeling the ethical use of resources is still in progress since school is not in session as yet. I am still getting together different resources that I will be able to make use of during the teaching of this concept. While I am searching for resources, I am also learning the importance of modeling the concepts for the students. They will be more likely to follow the rules if they see the adults around them following the rules.

Hey Denise, what workshop did you sign up for next week? It would be really cool if you posted a synopsis of what you learn with highlights of sites and whatnot on your blog. Even if a teacher walks away with just one site or idea, it's worth knowing about! This blog could also be used as your personal means of sharing the information with your colleagues in your school. People would always have a place to refer back to if they misplace their notes from when they meet with you.

ReplyDeleteSam had a great idea. As I learn interesting websites or helpful information I post it on our staff news email. This also gives me a chance to further answer any questions for them.
I think this is a great way to share information with most of the teacher who are intersested. A blog teacher blog would bring this whole idea into the 21st century!
I get all of my workshop email at work, I think I'm going to change my address so that the information comes to my home durning the summers. This will keep me abreast of whats' going on around me so I can be as proactive as you!

I dont know if your district allows access to youtube, but it can be a very useful when it comes to instructional videos.
